I have the metrologic ms3780 scanner and I don't have to press any button to
get it to work. Perhaps it may be different from the mk3780 though. I had a
friend help me to learn how to scan with it. First, the screen is sort of
tilted upward in the unit so when you scan, try to check that the screen itself
is parallel with the item you're scanning. Next, it works better from further
away. Its best to hold the scanner about 30 inches from the package. I try to
hold the scanner in one place while turning the package. This usually works for
me. I have to say, the database is bretty comprehensive. In addition to food, I
was able to scan a package of stick-on wire holder clipsand a new Netgear
router. The database doesn't include some of my older canned goods though, so
best to start with something new.HTHLisa> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL
