have you looked for the mirc add on called tirc3.28.exe or later?
this one makes mirc accessable to w e without any set file modifications. it
makes the chat window talk.
maybe if this is installed w e would work better.
but i was useing it a year ago with mirc version 6.24 and xp
i do not remember how to intergrate it into mirc any more. the author of the
add on was on this list 2 years ago.

I don't observe this particular problem, but I am using mirc 6.16. The
only problem I observe with mirc is that, after a few days, it won't
execute /run commands or $dll commands. I wonder if this is a manifestation
