I also had the shut down problem a handful of times with beta one, but so
far, beta 2 has addressed the issue or it just hasn't happened yet.

You are right about that. I rarely had shutdown problems with WE 6.1.

The problem only started for me after installing the beta, and on 2
machines.  I've taken the beta off one of the machines and guess what, no
shutdown problem any more!

I thought Trendmicro was the problem but removing it didn't solve the

Hi all, Beta 2 just wouldn't work properly with Trendmicro so I decided to
uninstall Trend and installed the trial gversion of Nod32. Yes, the beta
works but my notebook will not shut down or restart. To shut down the
computer, I have to press alt-f4, u and then press and release the on/off
switch. Any ideas?

 

Win XP pro sp3 with all updates.
