If the problem started only a few days ago, you definitely needed to include
that in your first, not your third, post.  Without the context of time
parameters, the problem you described sounds exactly like the old Browse
mode quirk.  I hear hoof beats, I think horses.  If you think zebras, then
you need to explain why that is.
