Hi, list and staff members.
To briefly summarize my post, subject: Adding to the confusion, I had been running the beta successfully for almost 15 hours on SAPI Eloquence with scripst running and experienced no speech blow-up. I also noted a Browse mode irregularity in that post whereby the beta is interposing new page information items into the Status messages item. Yesterday, I switched both the All Users profile and the Owner profile to the GW Micro supplied ECI Eloquence synth and went for about 5 hours without a blow-up. During that time, however, I noted that the interposition of new page information items was exacerbated by the beta actually beginning to read the first line or lines of the message text before saying Loading page, load done, etcetera. Sometimes, the Loading page speech would come first, but message text would interrupt other new page information items. Rarely if ever did the beta behave in the expected way. Today, the beta ran for about three hours in much the same way as yesterday. When I pressed Enter on a message using html formatting, the beta blew up. I used NVDA to close running processes, then restarted the computer for good measure. After I logged in, I received an error prompt and speech was silenced. Starting NVDA again revealed that Wineyes.exe had an error where it could not write to memory, but no error report was generated. When I pressed the OK button to close the dialog, Window-Eyes began speaking again. The only thing I, a non-programmer, can say with certainty is that Browse mode is ailing. I ask the gW staff to switch on the first 9 check boxes in the verbosity> Browse Mode> new page information dialog and read some html posts or surf the web. Oh. Doubtless, you have been investigating claims that the beta jumps to the top of a web page instead of finding the previous position. I have noticed this as well.
