Until the release of WE V5.5 (I think my memory is correct), I used WordPerfect in preference to Word wherever possible. It doesn't try to double guess you and the reveal codes feature gives huge control. This is especially valuable when preparing files to be processed through Duxbury.
Unfortunately, the facilities built into screen readers these days specifically to cater for Microsoft products give them a huge advantage over WordPerfect. I have WP12 on this machine and must confess to rarely using it these days. But every time I want to discontinue a header in Word I'm reminded of how easy it is in WP. It's a similar situation with mail merge and preparing macros. Searching for an alternative to Microsoft Office, I thought of Word Perfect. I know it is not free but I think it was always cheaper. I had an old DOS version and loved it. Can I use the latest windows version with wineyes? If so, how well? Thanks. Sara If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
