Word Perfect could work as well or better than Microsoft Word if Corel would be
willing to work with the
Screen Reader manufacturers as much as Microsoft does.
The problem with using Word Perfect really does just boil down to the fact that
Corel refuses to help
any screen reader manufacturers to improve the accessibility of Word Perfect.

I too used Word Perfect from the dos 5.1 version through Word Perfect 10 for
Windows. But as Word
Perfect became more powerful, it became less accessible. I also did some very
extensive set files
for WP 10, but that couldn't deal with everything. I tried many times to get
Corel to talk with GW
Micro, to no avail.
So, I now use Microsoft Office.
Perhaps if everyone who wants Word Perfect to work with screen readers
communicated that to Corel, something
would change. But, I'm not holding my breath.
