Press the 2 shift keys together and release them and see if that fixes it.

Subject: What Happened To My 6.1?
I hardly know how to explain this, but I'll try:
I decided to do a dvd conversion with DVD Extractor and put the cd in
the drive to begin. After I did so I forgot that I needed to hold the
shift key in order to prevent the disk from loading. I pressed the
shift, and when I thought enough time had elapsed I let up on the key.
When I went to select the extractor program the first odd thing I
noticed was that Window-Eyes was reading the letter "D" as though it
were in upper case. I didn't remember having used upper case, but
pressed the caps lock just in case.
After more fiddling I noticed that the upper and lower case functions
seemed to have been reversed.
I decided to close and re-launch Window-Eyes. In dismay I heard one of
the higher pitched voices, and the pitch resolution didn't work at all,
nor did pitch return when I shut down and fully re-booted the computer.
Is there any way I can bring Window-Eyes back to normal short of a
re-install? Granted, I have no idea how my misadventure with the cd/dvd
drive could have had anything to do with this problem, but this was the
first thing I had done after coming out of hibernate mode, so I thought
I would mention it in case it might be important in troubleshooting.
As always, thanks in advance for any help.
