Hi Bud and Everyone,

Well, I switched back to the non-Microsoft Viewer mode, and we'll see now what it does.

It did not do this before Window-Eyes 7.0, but neither was I using the Microsoft Viewer, either. <smile>

I'll definitely give it a fair shot, because Window-Eyes and Eudora are both loving! <smile>

Thanks a bunch.

Hi Pat,

I've used Eudora for many years and really like it. I find it easy to configure and find it very dependable. I'm not sure that your problem is wineyes related though. It sounds like something that could be configured in Eudora itself. If it were a wineyes problem it would show up with all us Eudora users. Did it just start doing that since you got version seven? I'm sure there are some sharp Eudora users on this list that could tell you what to do to correct the problem.
Good luck.

Bud

Thanks, Chris, I must agree with you completely.

It's amazing what people will come up with when they don't have a solid clue what is going on, and when they have nothing else better to say.

Woops! I didn't say that, did I? <grin> lol.

I've tried other email clients, and I personally don't care for them.

I have Outlook, but I choose not to use it for my email, just for the contacts on my cell phone.

I'm going to stick with Eudora no matter what, and I know the folks at GW Micro will address this issue, as there are a lot of Eudora users on this list, and using Window-Eyes.

I'm using the Microsoft viewer.

Thank you Chris for the encouraging words.

Pat Ferguson

I respectfully submit that this is typical chasing your tail response to a problem.

There is no reason eudora shouldn't work with we, it works beautifully with jaws.

Thunderbird works with we, and isn't it supposed to be a very similar engine?

Eudora has worked well with older versions of we, with 6.1 and earlier.

Email clients aren't that complex.

So telling someone they have to quit or change an email program that has worked for years with standard windows api stuff and such isn't the solution.

The solution is for the bugs to be fixed in we 7.

Anyway, if a product isn't being developed anymore, but is still available, and lots of folks use it, well, it's not a moving target any more is it?

And if something used to work but doesn't anymore, that's a regression.

It's not like someone wanting to run old 98 apps on an xp system where the whole os changed, we're talking an email client.

We're talking list views and browse mode if you use the mocrosoft viewer, we're talking more or less standard tool bars, and such.

So gw can fix this if they want to and if there's enough call for it from the users.

I love it how these companies push things for ever, and then all of a sudden that product doesn't exist anymore.

Sometimes it's more about polotics than access, or of course the dollar bill.

Eudora meets my needs, and there are still issues with outlook express and thunderbird, but eudora has some distinct advantages in that it's easy to treat it in a modular fashion, grabbing the whole folder and saving your mail easily without having to piece-meal your address book and other settings, with outlook and tb stuff is somewhat buried in windows, and eudora is a mature program even if they're not developing it anymore.

So, I think when issues with listview crashes and other core issues in window-eyes are addressed, many of the eudora issues will go away.

I hope I didn't ofend anyone, but that's how I see the truth as it stands.

I must point out that this product is no longer under development.
Therefore, you might find it advantageous to upgrade to a newer e-mail
client.
I highly recommend Microsoft Outlook if you have a copy of Microsoft Office
2007.
If not, Windows Mail is a good alternative, otherwise known as Outlook
express.
I also understand that Thunderbird is an excellent e-mail client.
I am sorry, but it sounds to me like an upgrade is in order

Subject: Eudora and Window-Eyes 7.0

Hi GW Staff, and Everyone,

As I'm trying to read email that is in my inbox, as soon as another
message comes in, Window-Eyes automatically goes to the top of the
email, and then I have to try and find my place again, in the email.

This is very frustrating. Is there something I can do to change this,
orkeep it from happening?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks much.

Regards,

Pat Ferguson
