Thanks, Chip. I wasn't aware that our good friend Bruce was "one of them."

I'll refrain from any more comments to him.

Thanks!

Bruce,

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you're referring to. Who is "we?"

In addition, remote access solutions are probably the
worst way to try
to debug sluggishness problems, as it adds another layer of system resource usage, employs constant data compression, and is
typically
slower than a local environment, even on the fastest of
machines with
the fastest of connections.

Debugging a customer's machine is not a feat we take
lightly, and is
very time consuming. We only allocate those resources when
we're not
able to duplicate the problem on any of our office
machines, and it is
deemed important enough to investigate.

Come on folks!!! Don't you think GW would use the remote

were possible? Do you think they enjoy asking for a
computer just so
they can have the pleasure of unpacking it, setting it up
at their

back up for
return? I really think they have better things to do
with their time.
They ask for the computer because sometimes this is the
only way they
can get at the root of the problem. There are a lot of
things you just
can't do remotely1!!

Could GWMicro connect remotely to a persons computer
that is having
these problems and determine the cause of the
problem?----- Original

I appreci

Damn, I wish I could send you this machine, but this is
my main studio
daw and I need it for work.

But I am thinking of getting another one and if I do, I
will consider
it.

Now I've never done any vm stuff, but isn't that immulation?

I'm glad we worked with 2000 again as i do still have that fleet
little os on an old p3 in the basement which is our server box.

But isn't it better to test on a real machine I would
think vm could
only tell you so much.

I know it's impractical to have that many machines
around to do every
set-up situation, but the same razor-blade aplies on
both sides of the
fence.

You guys need a machine to see exactly what's going on.

And also correct me if I'm wrong but probably low level
hard-ware
issues are hard to address with vm unless your doing a
multi-boot
thing and actually running a real version of any given set-up.

Thank.

 And it's just
not my snappy we I'm used to.
I've been using a Triple Talk for years, and notice no
difference
between versions. In fact, I just launched a VM with
Windows 2000 and
Window-Eyes 6.1, and compared that to my XP install
with Window-Eyes
7.0, tried a few different applications and tasks,
both with and
without scripting, and I notice 0 difference between the two situations.

So the only solution that I have, that Mike already
offered, is that
if you really want these problems solved, we're going to need a
machine in house that duplicates the problems.
