Actually, you could switch off the openbook speech and use window
eyes if you so desired. alternatively, you could load the silence.000
set and associate it with openbook. silence.000, as the name implies
makes window eyes silent while it's still in the memory.
I suggest you reinstall openbook. I assure you window eyes has
nothing to do with the problem. I have had openbook for nearly 5
years and so far it's not caused any crashes.
