I will definitely give it a try. I'm not on the laptop right now, but I will download that script later. As far as why the manual is a mystery to me, it is most likely because I stay away from using it. Every time I try to find an answer to a question, the directions are so full of verbiage, That by the time I get to the end I forget the beginning. That's assuming that the beginning was clear in the first place. All I would like to see, is a search edit box and a list of results links. If Google were laid out the way our manual is, They wouldn't be at the top of the list of search engines. It's a good thing that I don't use Window Eyes for very much more then reading E-mail and accessing a few other programs, otherwise I would have to go through the pains of learning how to navigate that manual. Thanks again, David -----Original Message----- From: jim grimsby Jr. [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 6:23 AM To: [email protected] Subject: FW: Accessing the clock Sorry forgot to cc this message. -----Original Message----- From: jim grimsby Jr. [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 4:18 AM To: 'David Pearson' Subject: RE: Accessing the clock If you find your insert key on your laptop to be problematic. I would suggest that you download a copy of the remap caps lock script. This script will allow the caps lock key to function as the insert key, which is especially useful on laptops. You can download the script from http://www.gwmicro.com/sc also, I would like to be able to assist you with your problems with the manual. Could you please explain your difficulty in more detail. I am afraid I am not sure what you mean by" as complicated as a Rubik's cube." I of course know what a Rubik's cube is, but do not understand the reference. As regards to the Window-Eyes manual. Have you availed yourself of the other formats of the manual found on the CD? for example there is a version of the manual formatted for Windows media audio that you can listen to with Windows media player or Winamp. If you find compiled help problematic. There is also a plain text version of the manual located in a sub-folder in your Window-Eyes installation folder, which is usually C:\Program Files\GW Micro\Window-Eyes\manual I do hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: David Pearson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 27, 2008 3:46 AM To: 'gw-info-gwmicro.com' Subject: Accessing the clock Hello list, I have a question that I should be able to find on my own, but I have to tell you, I tried and I just can't figure it out. I looked at the Window Eyes manual, but the way it works has always been a mystery to me. After I press f6 things seem to get more complicated then Rubik's Cube. I would like to know if there is a hot key to access the clock using a laptop. On a regular key board insert T works very nicely. Then on a laptop to do the same thing, holding down the second key from the left on the bottom row and the letter m to get the insert key and then pressing the letter T, seems to be a bit awkward. Do you folks know of a better way? Thanks, David If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
