Hi all. I've spent a good part of the day playing with the new ESET security suite, combination fire wall and anti virus. It is configurable with Window-Eyes, but I had the devil of a time getting scripts to run at all, or update e.g. the weather or not script would not go out and get weather, the install packages would not . . . etc. Even if I turned off the fire wall, or virus protection, no luck at all. Also, it is necessary to put programs which access the web in the "browser" area of the program, so I did both Eudora and Window-Eyes, and Eudora began working properly, but not Window-Eyes and scripts. In fact, when I attempted to either turn off or on scripts running using ESET 4.0 beta, WE froze, and had to be unloaded using control-alt-f4, with the kill_wineyes utility I have installed. NVDA came to the rescue then, and oh yeah, one more thing, during the installation of ESET 4.0 beta, somehow Window-Eyes was run again, or loaded again, and said, "window-eyes is already running." The configuration is pretty easy, like nod32 3.0 using f5, and you can turn off the GUI interface from within the interface portion of the program. The fire wall is nice, check boxes for "save rule as permanent or one instance," and allow, block, buttons, all speak fine. The program runs better with Window-Eyes than jfw 10, where jfw10 kept losing focus and WE did not. nanner nanner. :)
