Jim I am pretty much in agreement with your commentary with perhaps except one point. While it would be helpful if the user reporting problems with a script, he or she is under no obligation in doing so. More often than not, especially if a script has only minimal value to the user, the individual will simply disable or remove the offending script. I personally would bother with reporting only if I deemed the script to be importance to me and if I had some inkling as to what might be going wrong. Telling someone that your sccript doesn't work for me is not likely to be helpful; but yet, in many instances, that is about all the user knows. Like with other things in life, you pick your battles.
