I haven't used Audition beyond V1.5, so don't know if they've messed
things up since. However, I use V1.5 and absolutely love it. Doing
some stuff in the multitrack mode takes some familiarisation and some
facets of that are not screen reader friendly. With some practise,
though, you can do quite a bit in that mode.

In the Edit Wave View it's very good. There are quite a few hot keys
set out of the box and you can set up to 369.

I have a set file so I can quickly check current position, location and
duration of highlighted material and duration of zoom. Being slow, it
took me a little while to work out what the numbers meant, but there's
nothing terribly tricky about creating the set file.

It is much easier to set up Window-Eyes for Audition than Sound Forge,
but serious engineers may find some features missing. That said, for us
mortals it's very comprehensive with very good documentation.

Again, this is based on V1.5 - would dearly love to check out V3.
