Yes that is why it is important to give an option. I tend to like things

It's not that I don't trust it, it's just that I like to be informed when
my
machine is going to change so I can make a backup in case something goes
wrong.

I love the idea of automatic script updates, but I can think of one
possible problem. Let us suppose that you are using a script with a
certain version of an application. A new version of the app comes out,
necessitating changes to the script. You, however, do not upgrade to
the new version of the app, because you are perfectly happy with what
you have. Under the scenario where the scripts auto-update, wouldn't
you end up with a problem?
