Hey Jed. I have a guess as to what might be going on with your problem of
seeing telephone numbers that don't read properly. Do you by any chance have
Skype installed on your computer? If you do, it may be caausing your
problem.
When you install Skype, an optional feature is offered which allows the user
to left click a pproperly coded phone number in order to have Skype call the
number automatically. To my knowledge, this feature is not supported by
screen readers. At least I can't make it work with any that I have onboard.
We tried unchecking the feature a couple of times, but each time it
reactivated itself somehow.
Our solution? We reinstalled Skype, this time unchecking the feature during
installation. Phone numbers now read properly again.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Reading numbers on a web page
Hey guys,
Any of you ever had the situation where you come on a web page, and you go
under contact info, and it doesn't read the entire number to you of a
phone
number?
That's exactly the problem I am running in to. And not just 1 web sight,
several.
Surely their phone numbers have not been cut off, cause I visit these web
sights daily to get the numbers that I need.
One of the web sights is
Hartford.gov
Go on there, and click on the department listing, and find the emergency
telecommunications department.
Windoweyes reads their phone number as 860)7...
After I right arrow past 860 it says 7 then a bunch of periods.
Any ideas guys?
This makes absolutely no sense.
Why can I see the number with jaws and not windoweyes?
I've never had this problem before.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jed
