I don't know if this would work or not. We haven't had as much luck
doing this as you have.

found they didn't match? It's what we do here for our reghosting of new
pcs with a standard os, and as long as the distribution of windows has
the correct drivers as part of it, there's no problem. it just removes
the devices which are no longer there, and installs the new ones it
finds.
If it needs a driver which windows doesn't normally have, then you'd
have to be ready with a driver cd, but you guys would soon know that and
be able to have a driver cd handy.
It wouldn't work with speech when you first did this, you'd need a
sighted person, but I do think it would work.
Oh, and if the problem was a driver problem ultimately, then that too
wouldn't work.
