Hello. The signal cursor position will just say the word cursor where the cursor is located. So if you have the cursor at the beginning of the line, it will say the word cursor, then read the line. If however your cursor is at the beginning of the 3rd word in the line, Window-Eyes will read the first 2 words, then say cursor, then read the rest of the line.

If you get the relative position script, it will tell you the actual position of the cursor when you ask it to. This will be relative to the application and will try to give it in actual character and line values rather than pixel values.

Hope this helps.

Raul,

What does the signal cursor position under the screen menu do? Could it help with the right margin in notepad bit? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raul A. Gallegos" <[email protected]>

Hi, you are correct that a script can be made to handle this. Currently
there is one right now which tells you the line and column of the cursor
similarly to how we do it for Word. Perhaps this might be a starting
point. You can always make this type of request on Script Central.

Many thanks.

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if anyone has a way, short of counting, while
typing in notepad, to know when you reach the right margin, like a bell
on a typewriter. Is this a kind of thing that a script could be written
to do?

Thanks,

Rusty
