Well, said, Jim. There are a lot of websites that I don't particularly like their designs, layout, what info they place on it, that they use java links that cannot be bookmarked, and so on. This, however, isn't an accessability issue; and I don't raise that flag when contacting the website on what I am not finding. That would be unfair as many users raise the same issues.
What is happening -- and I am seeing this on a lot of sites including the remaking of Investors.com (a horrible new site imho) from Investors Business Daily is that websites want users to spend as much time on a site as possible rather than using rss feeds, bookmarked links, and the like. Why, well they sell advertising, of course; and want to sell you more of their products. But this isn't necessarily an accessability thing; it is how a designer wishes their customers to interact with the site whether or not you or I find it convenient. They have their alterior reasons which far outweigh my preferences. If I truly find things so cumbersome -- and don't value the content enough, I can always take my business elsewhere or stop using the site. That is no different in selecting which cars to drive, washing machines to buy, slacks to wear, or shoes to walk in and what to eat for dinner and where to do it. Consumers vote each time they make a decision and few, if any, of their votes are accessability related. You folks think you are having a bad time listening to some ultimately meaningless baseball game yesterday; well, how would you like to be a service rep working for MLB fielding calls from frustrated customers. The Sox-Royals opener, rescheduled for just after 2 pm Eastern, is the opening game of the day. I'll check on that and (hopefully) all will work well and feeds for both WSCR (Chicago) and KCSP (Kaycee) will work flawlessly. At the moment, both stations are listed on the GameDay page though no links are associated with their call letters at the moment. God does not give us power to imitate Him; He gives us His very self.
