are you loading the msdos prompt as the administrator?
also it may not work in a 64bit os system

Maybe you need to open a dos command window, by running the command
cmd.exe, and then inside of it issue the command needed to run your dos
application.

Ok, so I got a new pc here.

I used to run a MSDOS program, randomly, for executing a
certain task. The software is not available in a Windows version.

On my old pc, an Acer which had an Intel 2.8Ghz CPU, the
software ran without problem. Now, my new PC has an AMD Dual
Core (1.6 64bit) cpu installed. And, when trying to run the
software now, I get the following message:
    16-bit msdos subsystem.
And then two buttons, CLOSE and IGNORE.

What can I do? Why, did it run smoothly on my old PC, and not
on the new one? Both PCs have been running WinXP PRO SP3.
