Hello,

I have had mixed results with the "program compatability wizard" found under
the start menu, programs, accessories.  If memory serves me, it should
attempt to launch 16bit apps.

Maybe you need to open a dos command window, by running the command
cmd.exe, and then inside of it issue the command needed to run your dos
application.
