I am using the XP SP3, WE 7.01 on HP laptop and it works fine here. Are you
using the update feature of HP software?

Yes, it happens to me as well, on a HP laptop. Does it read anything, when
opening the Explorer, and you press once the TAB key? It actually started here,
about two weeks ago, and I have been wondering if it could be due to a certain
update, or lack of such. In other words, I don't have a fix, but am open for
ideas.
