IE already has the key you want which is alt-n. Once you press this
focus will be on the information bar and then you can press the space
bar to bring up a menu of options.

About a week ago, I downloaded, and installed an update to IE 8.
Don't know, what happened, and it might have been other reasons, but
my problem started about that time.
Some sites, IE 8 blocks from showing popups, or even from
downloading files. This is due to security, and I am glad it does
so, in the general. But every now and then, you want to, or even
have to, let it download or install some files. When it blocks
something, a short sound is played, and the INFORMATION LINE, will
show up, at top of the screen. Usually, I have just moved my mouse
to the top left corner (numpad7), and then down two or three lines,
and there it is, ready to be clicked on. But that is usually; or, that WAS.
When moving to the top left corner now, I am in the middle of the
site text, itself. There is no info-line, and even my menu bar
(File, Edit, View) is gone. I chcecked to see, if this would be
because IE 8 was not maximized, but it already was. I then tried to
Restore it to normal size, but that didn't make any changes. So I
decided to try playing a bit with Zooming the text, but the settings
between 75%-150% have given no lucky outcome.
Anyone happen to have an idea, what I can try, to get back the
'ordinary' outlay of the ie screen - including the menu bar, and the
info-line (when that one pops up)? Would be great if you had a
trick, as some pages I visit frequently, does show up this
info-line, and I need to get there, to see what they have blocked.
BTW, is there, or even could there be implemented, a command
(hotkey) for WE to quickly jump to the info-line?
Thanks,
