Hi Ted,

This is not at all normal, and indicates something wrong with your
setup.

How much memory is on the pc?  I'd guess you're running out of memory,
and it's swapping more and more to disk.  If you have less than 1gb,
this really seems likely.

Also, have you emptied the temporary files folder lately?  I think you
can do it from the properties of the drive, listed in the "my computer";
in there should be a "tools" tab with a button for cleaning up the disk.
It's hard to remember windows 2000 to be sure.

otherwise, you could go to the directory %temp% (yes, type those six
characters in as the directory name), and then delete anything you find
there.

Set your word view to normal instead of print; this keeps it from having
to try and duplicate on the screen an exact picture of how the printout
will look.
