Gee, if I was experiencing as many problems with an application as seems to be the case with Skype, I think I'd quit using it instead of continuously banging my head against the wall(smile)! Keep in mind that electricity always follows the path of least resistance!

I can confirm this. A bit more normal use, and it happens when I alt-tab between any windows, and occasionally when I do something like open an attachment from Thunderbird. I can get out of it using the kill-win-eyes script and restarting with the hotkey.

It's not just an issue with alt-tabbing from FireFox.

I just had this occur when I alt-tabbed from a telnet type of client called
Gmud to Outlook Express.

This happens a few times per day and it doesn't matter if it's from an IE8 Window or from any type of window, WE will crash and there is no means to
unload WE nor can I restart the Netbook.

Funny you should mention that ...

I just sent in a crash report; it happened when I was changing the
active window, but to their script manager not firefox. still, there
may be something going wrong when the active window changes.

I'm still quite happy with the trade-off.

So far my results are mixed. The problem of reviving after
hybernation
is definitely fixed, which I very much appreciate. I have something
strange going on that seems to involve Firefox on certain
pages either
causing WE to crash or loop, I cannot quite tell which just yet. The
symptom is that when I alt-tab into the window, my speech
ceases. The
only way I seem to be able to revive it is by closing Firefox
and using
eht kill-Win-Eyes script. I then restart WE and all is well,
until the
next time.

I have installed WE 7.1 on both my XP and Vista
machines and have
found it very stable and so far no glitches. The one problem I
reported about beta 1 has been resolved. Good work GW.
