didn't you say you were using a netbook?  perhaps it's something to do with
it's unusual video arrangement if so.

I'm not sure if one control in one particular program tells us anything
useful.

I still find radio buttons that don't properly show their state. A good
example is to upgrade winzip to the new 12.1. Under vista, you will see two
places where the radio buttons announce that they are unchecked. Moving up
or down between the choices doesn't result in their being checked.

Yes, mine does say it; it's very strange yours does not.  How are you
opening the context menu?  I'm using the applications key on my full
keyboard, and also I tried alt-f10.
