Well, I'm not Andrew, but one way I know of is to use the "kill window
eyes" script.  it does not work on vista, and it does not work if window
eyes has hung to the point where scripts are not executing (still a
regular occurrence for me).  however, if you've only lost speech, the
kill window eyes script is often helpful in getting window eyes
restarted.

One other suggestion  for Andy is to disable scripting completely, and
see if that stops the hang during outlook spell check.  I have no idea
if it will, but it's something to be tried.
