ok.  Someone replied offlist indicating that the disk installation goes to

c:\program files\gw micro\window-eyes

and I see this on my HD

I also notice, however, that the classic file folder

c:\wineyes

remains on the hd despite the removal.  More troubling, however, it 
appears that there are duplicate files in these competing folders and, as 
an example, when I edit the exception dictionary, it goes to

c:\wineyes\users\default\excp.dic

Is this where it ought to be, or has something gone haywire that may be 
leading us to finding the culprit of WE not opening successfully on 
boot-up.

If this indeed is a problem, prior to doing anything, do I need to remove 
manually some folders and which files, if any, from these folders do I 
want to make certain are backed up.

I am now totally confused as how to proceed lest I mess up things even 
further.
