We'll just have to agree to disagree here.
I sent in set files, called in to talk with people, and submitted bug
reports in great detail.
There were other priorities going on then, and I just got bumped.
I considered breaking of setfiles in we 7 to be a very serious bug,
but since scripting was the favored topic of the moment, nobody
wanted to hear anything about broken setfiles.
So I do hold you guys accountable for this little matter.
I won't say anymore because I don't want to bring up stuff that
shouldn't be public knowledge.
But it is good that Doug has written me and atleast looked at the
problem, even though it's a year later.
Better late than never.
Considering that I've been a gwmicro products trainer, and a major we
supporter, and my wife and I have brought several customers onboard,
this was very disappointing, considering the context of what I was
doing a year ago with you guys.
I don't see how broken setfiles going from one version of we 6.1 to
we seven serious being minimized could be excused as a pet peeve, to
me, considering that we setfiles are one of the main stays of we and
one of the main selling points, I think some hands on and careful
follow through would have been warranted at that time.
But Aaron just more or less told me it was probably my machine, or
we'll look at it if we get time.
Well, I was able to duplicate this problem on my friends machines.
So, I'm going to hang out and wait for a while and see if I get any
kind of response.
Again, considering the amount of effort and time to create setfiles
for a major app being broken in transit, I think this is a very serious issue.
Thanks for your response though.

Chris, I can't agree with your assertion that you were done very
wrong by people that you believed in. Unfortunately we just were
not able to communicate well with you to get to the heart of the
problem. You would probably do well at creative writing, but your
messages are not always consise which made it difficult for us to
understand the problem. Nobody is at fault here it was just a
problem of communication. Now that we have a better understanding
of the issue it has been noted and I'm sure it will get looked at.

Well said robert.
I too run a business a recording studio and have to do all that
kind of stuff you said.
I am blunt in expressing myself sometimes, and there's some bad
history with a couple on the list, and they didn't like what I
said, and well, temper, temper.
YOu are right of course, self control, and gentleness is the key.
And a helping atitude.
The bottom line is to use the screenreader we like to do our work
the best we can.
Maybe it makes some mad that I compare products and ask why doesn't
my product do what the cometition does.
It's no different than is someone came in here and asked, hey, the
studio downtown does pitch correction and 24 bit recording, how about you?
I came on this list to solve a problem I'd been struggling for for
over a year.
I feel like I got blown off a year ago over the set files issue
breaking with we 7 series.
I finally got some response from the main cat, and that was encouraging.
I won't go in to how that happened, a whole year, but needless to
say, it's a sorry state of affairs.
I made an agreement and I'll keep that.
But I was done very wrong by people I believed in.
Ok, my wife says dinner is ready.
Blessings, and regards.

Come on guys and girls.
My lap top crapped out while I was in Los Angeles. By the time I
got home, got it diagnosed and purchased a new lap top, it was a week.
Then I come on this list and there are over 600 messages, most of
which are not only arguments, but arguments about things that have
been argued about for years.
How the hell am I going to get through 600 messages? Especially
with my other duties, gigs, etc.
Some on this List can't control themselves. They have to
comment and argue about everything.
Imagine how many more posts there would be if the automatic
addressing went directly to the List? Too many people on this
List would be too lazy to change the addressing when writing personal comments.
For gawd sake, can't you people stop all the useless bickering and
let the List function for what it was set up for?
It is to help one another, not to argue.
I know some of you have nothing better to do than to sit and post
these ridiculous messages.
Have some consideration for those of us who would like the benefit
of the list but don't have the time to plow through hundreds and
thousands of useless messages.
Sure, use the delete key, you say. I do. But even that takes
time and often you have to open a message to find out if it has
anything important in it.
I operate a business, am the leader of a band, I do the bookings
for the band. I am on the Board of Directors of a very active
Jazz Society. I am on the talent selection committee for a major
Jazz festival. I book the monthly guest stars and set up the sets
for the main stage of our monthly Jazz Society meetings.
I work 3 and 4 nights a week playing piano.
On top of all of this, I have chores around the house, repairs to
make, upkeep, etc.
I am sure there are many other members of this List who are
equally as busy. We just don't have the time to wade through all this BS.
I beg the folks at GW Micro to put a stop to what is ruining this
list. Please warn the offenders. If a warning does no good, then
please bar them from the List for a given time until they learn their lesson.
I also beg the members of this list to think, yes, think before
you post. Post privately to someone rather than post to the List
when your message will not benefit the list.
I also moderate a mailing list of 600. The list runs very smooth
because I don't tolerate the type of arguing and fighting that goes on here.
If I have to, I'll unsubscribe until perhaps some of you come to
your senses -- Until some of you think about someone else, instead
of just yourself.
