Well, there's no way we can tell you whether your installation
program is accessible or not till you run it 'grin', but often times
these installation programs will have a graphical front end but if
you dig down in the file tree, you can find a setup.exe or some such
that is accessible and run the individual components of the setup
program separately.
Also, is this card one that windows will pick up with it's native
hardware install, or do you need separate drivers window's doesn't have for it?
Some cards do both, window's will pick up, but you can install better
drivers off the web-site or install cd which enhances the card, the
edirol ua25 is just such a card, will work with window's standard
drivers but if you install the asio drivers and put the card in
advanced mode, you get higher bit rates, and lower latency and stuff like that.
Then of course, if your using the older window-eyes sapi or dec32
then you can't individually adjust where we voices go, they will
follow the default sound card which you set in control pannel.
But the new sapi and dec32 will go to the sound-card you specify, so
then you can set your other stuff to the right output in control
pannel and you should be set to go.
So just go for it man, you won't know till you try.
Jump in and make a big splash, and your blessed to have a sighted
wife to help you out of a jam if something mis-fires.
Every day's an adventure 'grin'.

I thought I'd ask before getting myself into trouble trying to
install an extra sound card. Over the weekend I bought a USB 5.1 to
7.1 sound card by turtle beech. I want to run wineyes through the
existing sound card, and everything else through out the surround
sound system. Main question, will I be able to accomplish this
without sighted assistance other than getting help from my wife with
the color coded jacks? I downloaded the PDF installation
instructions to my notebook, so I can follow directions as I do the
installation on my desktop. Any input will be appreciated.
