Hi Sonya:
Yes, it is possible to download files from the internet without sight
assistence, and Window-eyes will let you know when the download is
finished.  There is a box in the download dialog that you have to
check in order to make that download disappear.
The method of downloading depends on whether you are using Internet
Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, or another web browser.
