Hello all!
I had to uninstall Jaws completely from my laptop since they didn't
coexist
on my system. I'm having no problems with Window Eyes and System Access!
Both have excellent customer support! I for one will never have anything
from Freedom Scientific Ever again! So hats off to Window Eyes and anyone
else who has excellent customer support contrary to Freedom Scientific who
doesn't have good customer support in my opinion!
If I find I absolutely need JFW and can't avoid getting it, I'll do so but
till then I'm content with Window Eyes and SA. I can't get NVDA to work
well either. It works when it does but it completely crashes after five
minutes or so. I'm happy with what I have!
Jim

Dear Shannon:
Both Jaws and Window-Eyes should coexist just fine. However, you will
have
to load each program separately and for different uses.
Like you, I am ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED that no CONCERTED EFFORTS are being
made to make accounting software and point of sale software accessible to
screen readers. $5,000-$10,000 for scripting? I am definitely seeing why
GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT, particularly amongst prospective blind entrepreneurs
will continue to be a Herculean task! I suppose that with most folks
working for government or some other firms, the idea of trying to help
MAKE
AN ACCOUNTING OR POINT OF SALE SOFTWARE accessible for a screen reader
user
will always e muted. After all, it is probably only a tiny segment of our
population truly needs it; there are many more needing games and such.
If you MUST USE JAWS to get your work done and STAY GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, by
all means go for it! You can most likely switch back to Window-Eyes if it
can be demonstrated that it would work with an accounting software that
you
can use at work or elsewhere.
Sincerely,
Olusegun
