Once again, this is not a window eyes problem these random lockups are
caused by Windows itself. Every screen reader has this problem, if the
process stops functioning properly. The screen reader that is loaded when
the process misbehaves is unable to acquire information from the operating
system. So therefore, it stops working, closing the unresponsive process
will bring speech back. So it is going to be kind of hard for them to fix a
problem with Windows itself.

Has GW been able to duplicate these random lockups and if so have they
provided any steps to minimize this problem?
