Well, it turned out Hubby's machine was just a DVD maker and wouldn't do
CD's; so I took everyone's advice and copied the contents of the
Window-Eyes CD onto a USB drive I have, and installed from that. Now I just
need to learn the keyboard. There are keys in weird places (the FN key, and
some kind of key with a squiggle on it that my husband doesn't know what it
does), and just generally a different keyboard. I got a numpad keyboard
thing, but sometimes when I'm trying to move the mouse around with it, it
will say numlock on or numlock off, but won't seem to do what I expect it to
do. I might have to learn the WE laptop layout, but I really don't want to
have to learn new commands for an old program. Any suggestions?

Hi Peggy:
The USB CD/DVD machine should work for installing Widow-Eyes. That's what
we used for our netbooks and it worked great.

Not so, you can download upgrade files only, except by special
arrangement.
However if you have a network, then you should be able to hook up your
laptop to the network, otherwise copy the entire CD to a flash drive and
install that way.
