If you press the following keys with FN you'll get the equivalent numbers
on
the number pad which will make the WE mouse do what those numbers do:-
JKL = 123
UIO = 456
789 = 789
FN with P is the Minus key, for the WE cursor and mouse toggle I believe,
and FN with Semi-colon (;) is the Plus key for cursor routing.
I hope this gives you a start.
To add control key, simply press the control and FN with these letters and
numbers.

Many of us do use the standard keybord layout on laptops and netbooks.
You
have to use the FN key as a modifier to use the embedded keypad. For
instance, FN-J corresponds to numpad-1 and will move the mouse to the
bottom
left. FN-U is the numpad-4 or left arrow and will move the mouse pointer
to
the left. So if you want to move the mouse to the left by a word, you
would
have to press CTRL-FN-U (corisponding to ctrl-numpad-4).
That is only a couple of examples, but you get the idea.
It takes a little getting used to, but not as much as learning the laptop
keyboard layout.
Also it might take a little experimenting (or sited help) to figure out
where some of the keys are. For example, on my netbook, there is no
dedicated home and end keys. These are FN-LEFT ARROW and FN-RIGHT ARROW.
So to jump to the top of a web page I need to use CTRL-FN-LEFT ARRO.
I used to use the laptop layout but switched to the standard layout and
like
it much better. Also it makes it less of a strain on my brain when I
switch
between a laptop and a standard full-size keybord which I do every day.

Well, it turned out Hubby's machine was just a DVD maker and wouldn't do
CD's; so I took everyone's advice and copied the contents of the
Window-Eyes CD onto a USB drive I have, and installed from that. Now I
just
need to learn the keyboard. There are keys in weird places (the FN key,
and
some kind of key with a squiggle on it that my husband doesn't know what
it
does), and just generally a different keyboard. I got a numpad keyboard
thing, but sometimes when I'm trying to move the mouse around with it, it
will say numlock on or numlock off, but won't seem to do what I expect it
to
do. I might have to learn the WE laptop layout, but I really don't want
to
have to learn new commands for an old program. Any suggestions?

Not so, you can download upgrade files only, except by special
arrangement.
However if you have a network, then you should be able to hook up your
laptop to the network, otherwise copy the entire CD to a flash drive and
install that way.
