Just so you understand that you have a choice, many of us continue to use the default layout on notebooks and netbooks even without the external num pad. This is done by using the FN (function) key to access the embedded keypad (j k l = 1 2 3 etc) and in this way the layout is basically the same if we change between keyboards.
However, one of the wonderful things about Window Eyes is that you can configure it to meet your individual needs and preferences. So if you want to change to the laptop layout, here is how you do it. Press CTRL dash backslash to enter the WE control panel. Press alt- k for the keyboard menu. Press k or arrow down to "keybord layout and press enter Press L or Arrow down to "laptop layout and press enter Press enter on the OK button (this is the default). It will take several seconds to update the set files. That should do it!
