It looks like you got some great responses to this question. I'll add one more. I recall having this issue in the past but not knowing why. I had a sighted friend do some looking, and he found that somehow, another user account had been created. He didn't know why this could have happened, but he deleted the other account, and I did not get the log-in screen any more. Sorry, for this - somehow off topic message. Recently, I had to do some changes to my Internet connection. And that is when the trouble started. If anyone could point me to a solution, it will be greatly appriciated. I am running WinXP Pro, SP3. Usually, my computer started directly in Windows, that is, you turn it on, give it the necessary time, and the desktop is up and running. After I did the work on the Internet connection, now, when starting Windows, I am asked to enter a password. That is, the Windows LogOn screen shows up. I am the only user of the PC, and so, don't want this LogOn screen all the time, when starting the system. I do remember, being into this kind of problem, on another PC, and got it fixed back then. But I can't, for the bare life, remember what I did, so as to get rid of that LogOn thing. Anyone in here, who has the trick?
