Steve,

well, the only guess I have is that if you have preview turned on in outlook
I'd turn it off.

ok, one more guess: I'd disable your antivirus email scanner to see if the
problem stops. I have my AVG email scanner turned off because it seemed to
me to be the cause of some problems, and you're not really at any additional
risk by disabling just email scanning (in my opinion).

Hi,
I am having this problem way too frequently with Outlook. I can usually
solve it by refreshing the screen but I am now having to do this much more
than I used to. The same thing is happening with 2003 and 2007 but not as
frequently with 2003.

Hi Scott,

well, I'm not having this problem with outlook calendaring, however, many
people are having the problem of window eyes losing speech for no particular
reason; that is, no one else, as far as I know, has tracked it down to a
particular piece of software causing the problem reliably. they do know
about it and are working on it.

I suspect there's something unusual about your pc, or your outlook settings,
but anyway here's a suggestion: window eyes has an alternate way of
getting to outlook calendar data, that they wrote themselves rather than you
using outlook. to use it you press insert c. I'm sure it must be
documented in the WE manual, but you may be able to use this interface to do
things without losing speech.

hth,

Chip

Subject: Window-Eyes Outlook Calendar problems

I am having trouble with the Window-Eyes Outlook Calendar.

If I just open it to look at appointments, it seems to work OK. However, if
I try to enter a new appointment, edit an existing appointment, delete an
appointment and in some cases, try to go to the next or previous period that
I am looking at, most of the time WE will stop talking.

Occationally it will come back after several minutes.

Sometimes my wife can close programs with the mouse and it will come back.

Quite often, the machine must be rebooted to get things working again.

I have not yet tried the kill we script.

This is happening with WE 7.11, Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Premium.

It also happens with WE 7.11, Outlook 2003 on XP Pro.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or is anyone else experiencing similar
problems?

Thanks,

Scott
