Hello. Your problem with Windows Live messenger 2009 is unrelated to Window
Eyes. WLM is having some serious problems at the moment, a friend that uses
System Access and my sighted step father are both experiencing this word
rearranging problem (my friend refers to it as speaking Yoda). They also are
frequently being disconnected then reconnecting during chat sessions.

As far as the history, I've never used the shift+alt+i method (didn't even know
it existed to be honest). When sitting on the edit box you type into, I simply
shift+tab, which should drop you right onto the history window. Now just arrow
up and down to read the previous messages, though if the read stuff is a bit
goofy sounding, try hitting insert+\ to redraw the screen. WLM has a tendancy
to have its screen get a bit flakey, and the redraw should clean this up a bit.
Hope this helps.
