Well, I hate to be the one fool who whines, but that patch has raised real havoc with Internet Explorer 8 running on Windows 7/64. Let me try to explain:
I installed the patch and restarted. Indeed, it seemed fast and slick. Then I opened Internet Explorer. I have several tabs that open all at once, the second one is the NLS BARD site. When I did a Control+Tab to open that tab, the speech became increasingly clipped until it stopped altogether. I could Alt+Tab away and have the speech return, but the second I did an Alt+Tab to get back into IE, the speech died. No problem, right? Just restart WE. I did. The speech worked fine on the BARD site opening page. But the second I logged in, it clipped and finally died again once the new page was loaded. I'm writing this using JAWS because I am a little afraid of being stranded by the synthesizer again. Is there any earthly way to roll back this patch short of a complete re-install from CD?
