I know this does not help your situation at all, but I have the exact same sound card running under Windows 7 32-bit with the latest driver and have had none of your issues. Good luck. Nothing regarding your sound card is modified. However, I would suggest that you make sure you are using the latest sound card driver you can get. It sounds like your sound card driver may have some issues with the new approach.
