I noticed this in earlier versions of Window-Eyes. Since it has been brought
up again, I thought I would do some testing. I have Windows XP Service Pac 3
and Window-Eyes 7.11. I have a PowerBraille 65/80 display attached. When I
am using the Sapi Synthesizer, no engines are displayed under the Eloquence
synthesyzer. When I change to the Eloquence synthesizer, I get no speech but
the braille display keeps working. If I go right back to Sapi, speech
returns, but the braille display stops. If instead, I reload Window-Eyes
using the Eloquence synthesizer, speech returns using Eloquence, but the
braille display stops. If I am using Eloquence, the correct installed
engines are displayed in both Eloquence and Sapi. Again, as I said earlier,
when using Sapi, installed engines are shown under Sapi but not under
Eloquence. In order to get my braille display working again, I must reboot.
Sometimes, I must reboot to get anything going again. I don't know the
technical reasons for this but thought I would pass it along.

It is really quite simple. When you go and find the patch you can place
the patch in a folder like your downloads folder. It runs as an
executable. After you run the patch you can go to the place where you
select synthesizers list and then choose etieloquence and it runs. I

Listers, I really can't figure this one out. I downloaded and installed
the new patch for ETI Eloquence, went to my synth dialog box to run that
synth, only to find that there was no listings for installed synths. I
only find listings for ETI Eloquence in the SAPI portion of the dialog
box. I am running WE 7.11. I tried looking for Eloquence in the advanced
options of the 7.1 cd, but only found Microsoft voices. What do I need
to do to put this new Eloquence patch to work, or is it some how working
now without my knowledge?
