Hello,

What is likely happening is that you have a third-party copy of Eloquence installed, most likely from an older version of Window-Eyes or Kurzweil 1000. When Voice Rotor loads, it scans all of the available synthesizers so that you don't have to wait for it to do so each time you configure your preferences. A consequence here is that it will run through each voice, including both versions of Eloquence. Two instances of Eloquence can't be loaded at once in Window-Eyes due to a limitation of the synthesizer. Therefore, the first version the script sees ends up being the only one you can use. In this case, it's the third party version that is getting enabled. Uninstalling the external copy of Eloquence will solve your problem, and it should also make your system considerably more stable.

Regards,
Steve

Good morning. I remember messages about the Eloquence voices not being found after patch installation. I ran into this earlier this morning on my old XP box. The voice rotor script was installed on this machine with Eloquence Reed in the list. Voice rotor didn't find the voice. I checked the synth list in WE and there were no voices listed under Eloquence. I stopped the voice rotor script and like magic the list of Eloquence voices returned to WE's synthesizer list. I restarted the script and again the problem occurred. I tried to remove Reed from its list and put it bak in. It's a no go on this box. The Voice rotor script is the newest version. I may try to remove it and reinstall it from scratch but it seems that this script just does not like something with this particular machine. In summary, you have the Eloquence voices when you install the patch. If you don't see them stop or remove Voice rotor and you'll see them. Good luck.
