List,
In case I was not clear enough in all my last few messages to the list about my
Eloquence problems.
The problem is solved and the choices are back and the patch did work on my
pausing problems. Mike suggested that I tell the list all is now good.
I am forwarding the message I sent back to Mike which tells in short how I did
it.
Thanks to Doug, and Steve for pointing me in the right direction, and to Raul
for writing the KB article that I hadn't read. Smile
Shannon

Great I'd say let the list know so that everyone will know your problem has
been solved.

    Michael,

I appoligize, I mistakenly attributed the message about calling in this
problem to Doug.

I am happy to say that the pause issue is solved.

I told the list about having switched back to sapi and that pausing was not
an issue useing that synth.

You asked me to call you and let you hear it after I had installed the
patch with no change.

This morning I was going to do just that. I went back to the control pannel
to switch back to the elequence but it was no longer a choice. There were no
voices under the elequence synth.

I wrote the list and Doug and Steve told me about having to switch to Deck
access and turning off WE and then back on again. That worked as advertised. I
then had the elequence voices back.

After I switched back to Elequence Read I had it read to me a Book share
book in IE and the pausing problem went away. It is acting just like Sapi Read
did/does.

    All is good again!

I guess the patch did work!

    Thanks

    Shannon

Shannon, this should be much better with the patch. Can you call and let
me hear what is happening over the phone?

      Hello List,

With all the talk since the eloquence patch came out I started comparing
the two synths.

I noticed when I installed my 7.11 that my Voice of choice was reading
really strangely. It was pausing in the strangest places while in a read to end
in IE. I even went so far as to look for any sort of punctuations or breaks in
the text that might explain it. I gave up after a while and just thought that
it was just a new thing that I had to learn to deal with the new version.

When the patch came out I hoped that would fix my eloquence Read voice
and the pausing problem. It did not.

After looking at all the messages back and forth about it and how some
people were using the SAPI voice and thinking that the patch was for that I
went and changed my synth from Eloquence Read back to SAPI Eloquence Read and
guess what? The pausing stopped.

Now has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? and If it is happening
to others why is this eloquence Read pausing like that? The SAPI Read doesn't
pause.

      Any ideas?

      Shannon
