Rick,
I only have the problems with m.twitter.com!!!
And there my browser does not matter *smile*
It is not a cookie, the page is a xml file or xhtml file, cannot remember.
it is the normal login page that should be shown, but hte server does only
give it for download and not process it through php or perl.(or whatever
page it should be)
Maybe it is a xml file in a java applet, I do not know, what they try to do.
cheers,
Martin

HI: I have seen mention of that problem. In fact this morning I went to
m.facebook.com and got a request to download m_facebook_com with an unknown
filetype attachment. As near as I can tell facebook allows programmers to
attach their advertising or traking software to their page. Perhaps that is
how they get money. When you bring up a webpage there are people who are
allowed byt the website manager to send cookies to your computer and perhaps
facebook has someone targeting your, or now my, area for tracking cookies
but they did not code the download properly. This is a problem a couple of
folks had last year and I did not find any good answer to the problem. You
will need to contact facebook with as much information about the download as
possible, perhaps a screen shot if you can do it. It could be trying to add
a cookie but your browser does not recognicze it, wants to download
something nasty or something else. I do not think that is a standard
facebook process as I would have assumed many, many more comments on the
process when searching Google. So, the problem seems to be uncommon which
indicates something recent. Only facebook will be able to sort it out. You
might try messing with your privacy settings but I would not do that unless
you have to do it. I almost downloaded that puppy to see what the code looks
like but I sure don't want to have to ReInstall my OS if it is a nasty. That
login popup happened to one or 2 people last year and the only solution I
found one person recommended was to switch his browser version which tells
me it might have to do with a Browser setting. I have mine set up to allow
first party cookies, although it does not seem to be working with Netflix
anyway. Well, that is all I could find. You will have to contact Facebook
and ask them about the message. Please post what you find from them as I got
that message I mentioned this morning. I did not get it last time I went to
the url provided in one of the posts. Notice how there was a period after
the m in m.facebook.com. I do not remember but I think the original link was
something a little diferent. Send me the url you use to try and connect to
mobile facebook again if diferent and I will take another peek. For now I
would not, and did not, download the file.
