Bob,
Does update checker also see if you have the latest drivers installed? I
seem to have usb version 2.0, supposedly the fast downloading ability, but
still get speed equivalent to the older version 1.0. I have a balloon tip
that comes up saying something like this port can perform faster if you
install something or other, click on this balloon tip, etc.

worked well with W E.

www.filehippo.com
Update checker looks at the installed programs on your computer to check

you have the latest version. If a new version is available you are

an opportunity to download it.
