Firstly, I downloaded the plug in that makes the contact list more accessible. I have noticed that if I close the contact list, or ALT + TAB away from it, the contact list is gone. This also happened without the accessible list plug in. If I click the Miranda shortcut to supposedly bring it back up, W E says "Miranda IM wants attention" but I do not see the contacts list anywhere. I have to click the IM icon in the system tray, click "Hide / Show", and then click the Miranda icon in my start menu. Is there a way to set up Miranda so that it behaves like WLM and AIM where clicking the shortcut will bring up the contact list, and it will stop hiding the list whenever the list loses focus?
Yes. The hotkey to show/hide the contact list is Control-Shift-A. Your focus will then land in the list, and you can do what you like. If you want the contact list to remain in the Alt-Tab order, which isn't the default for some reason, uncheck the "Tool style main window" checkbox in the Miranda options dialog under the "Window" tab.
Next, I have noticed that if I have a conversation open, and someone else messages me or I message them, I cannot access both windows. I have to Escape out of one and then the other chat window will appear. Is there a way to keep both windows up and stop one from hiding itself when I ALT + TAB away from it? It seems like Miranda is doing a lot of window hiding and it's driving me crazy. I have tried TabSRMM, but didn't really like the plug in--it laid out my chat window in a very odd way and also caused Miranda to crash a few times. If anyone can tell me how to solve these problems, I'd much appreciate it.
The default chat plugin organizes conversations in tabs, so to move from one to the next, use Control-Tab or Control-Shift-Tab. I personally don't like this approach, so I enabled the older-style send/receive interface. To do so, open Miranda's options dialog, focus the "plugins" item, and tab until you reach the plugins list. Press "s" until you reach srmm.dll. Press the spacebar to enable it, click "Apply," and restart Miranda.
That should get you what you are after. Best regards, Steve If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
