For some, this would be a less taxing solution, punn intended 'grin',
but ultimately, it should be our choice, because that's what independence and being equal is all about.

One might say we could hire readers, we don't need a screen-reader, that's too much trouble, someone can read to us, or put on our clothes for us, or do our shopping for us,
you get the picture 'grin'.

Take my computer to a shop and have it fixed, who needs to know how to install windows, or replace bad memory, or cook, let someone else do it for us.

The more tools we have that put us on an equal footing with the sighted, the better off we are.

It always struck me that paying someone who knew what they were doing to do the taxes was probably less of a hassle in the long run than messing with tax software or multiple forms with a screen reader, even a good one.

Subject: RE any tax programs fully accessible to screen readers?

I used the forms that I downloaded from the IRS website, and found they
work reasonably well.
It helps to be familiar with the forms and how information needs to be
entered, but the form does the math for you.
I also had some very helpful conversations with the IRS advice people.
State taxes here in Iowa are a bit different. It's doable with their
online forms, but you have to do your own math. But I didn't find that
to be a big problem as I entered figures in Excell to do the calculations
for me.
Blessings,
Tom
