Yesterday, my WE7.2B1 froze, with no other ways to get it up again, but to restart the computer. I was, at the moment, using a SAPI voice. Now I want to switch back to Eloquence, but when trying to do so with the help of Voice rotor, I am told 'Eloquence Reed is not found'. OK, I thought, if he is playing hide-and-seek, that is fine with me. I just will go to WE ControlPanel, File \ Synthesizer, and find him there.
Yep, that is what I thought. When getting into the dialog for choosing synth, I can arrow to Eloquence, but when tabbing over to the list of installed voices, it is empty. Absolutely NO ONE of the Eloquence family is at home. I have tried to restart WE, even the whole computer, several times - to no avail. All Eloquences have gone for a vacation; and that is without noticing me :( Has anyone gotan idea, as to what I can do, so as to get back Eloquence? Allright, there would be the chance of reinstalling WE, but I really wish there is a bit less drastic way of doing things. And to GW: You know, cases like this, was somehow easier in the 6.1 version, since you could plug in your CD, and reinstall the SAPI version of Eloquence. Would it be possible, that later versions of WE would have a 'repair' feature, in the installation process. I have seen this on quite a few software, and it does a great job, in many cases, reinsuring all registry intries etc is correct and up-to-date. Woudl have been great, if WE had such a feature, making it possible to recover when something like this takes place. -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
